About Damon Haber

Why did you initially choose to become involved with our board?

My involvement started as I was the representative from a supporting company, but my love continued after I left the company and have been on the board for over 10 years.

What specific aspects of our mission resonate with you the most?

Simply, helping youth. Though we provide services at a cost that is the most affordable in the city in order to help those families that may be considered low-income, we also provide incredible programs and services that every child in the city could benefit from.

Can you share a personal experience or story that reinforced your commitment to our organization?

I attend the Youth of the Year event every year and continue to be floored by the stories and successes of these young children. I get to see first-hand what incredible impact the staff and programs have on our Club members.

In your opinion, what sets our organization apart from others?

Options. Kids can attend the Clubs and on one day learn to play drums, the next garden or climb the climbing wall, and on another day work with their staff on applying for colleges.  The possibilites are endless.

Are there specific programs within the organization that you are particularly excited about, and if so, why?

Our college readiness program is my favorite as you can see how the staff start working with kids in middle school and watch how they grow and then graduate with a clear plan for the future.
